New response unit to tackle exploitation of vulnerable children

A national response unit is to be set up to provide support to local authorities to help stop child sexual exploitation, trafficking, modern slavery and other attempts by criminals to take advantage of vulnerable children, as announced by the Department for Education. The unit is backed by £2 million of government money and will be operational from 2019.
