Focus on mental health in schools

The Department for Education has published results of its research into mental health provision in schools and colleges. The research included a national survey, and case studies exploring decision-making, models of delivery and experiences of different approaches to mental health provision, as well as a workshop to consolidate learning from the research. The aim of the research was to understand what schools, colleges and other educational institutions in England currently do to promote positive mental health and wellbeing among all of their pupils, to identify and support pupils who might have particular mental health needs or require specialist support, and to explore their experiences of putting this provision into place.
