Robust evidence needed of improvements in CSE support in care homes

A Department for Education report into how well supported children in care homes who are affected by child sexual exploitation (CSE) are has found that there is a lack of evidence for improvements. Although staff at the homes involved in the research highlighted improvements in the lives of affected children, robust evidence to support this was lacking, and none of the care homes collected long-term data about children’s outcomes after they leave the home. The report did however highlight a range of good practices, and improved information sharing between care homes and the police.
