Guidance for achieving permanence

The Department for Education has published guidance on the knowledge and skills social workers must have to help children in or entering care find permanent placements. The knowledge and skills statement sets out how social workers should decide on the best permanence option, how to negotiate the legal process, how to avoid unnecessary delays, and how to support transition. There will not be a test for social workers on this, but there will be an optional training scheme based on the skills statement.
