NICE guidance on harmful sexual behaviour

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has published guidance on how to deal with children and young people who display harmful sexual behaviour. It includes recommendations on having a named safeguarding lead in each school, and practitioners engaging with families and carers before beginning an intervention. It also calls for a joined-up approach to responding to concerns about a child or young person’s sexual behaviour.
