Dangers of ‘block’ transferring cases highlighted in SCR

A serious case review has led to concerns about ‘block’ transferring of cases between different children’s services teams. Sunderland Council has said it will review its approach after an SCR found that ‘block’ transfers meant important details about vulnerable children could be overlooked. The move follows the publication of three SCRs commissioned by Sunderland Safeguarding Children Board, one involving a baby’s death and two where babies had been seriously harmed.
