National Deaf Children’s Society calls for review after abuse allegations

The National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS) has called for a government review into the way the most vulnerable children and young people are cared for – this follows the closure of Westgate College for Deaf Young People in Margate after a CQC inspection found “shocking examples of institutionalised failings and abuse”, including carers physically harming those they were looking after. The NDCS has called for a review into what lessons can be learnt.
