Child poverty and mental health problems

Young people living in poverty are more likely to think of themselves as a failure than their wealthier classmates, according to a report by The Children’s Society. Poor Mental Health: The Links Between Child Poverty and Mental Health Problems finds that poorer children are less likely to feel optimistic about the future, and more likely to say they don’t feel useful. The report highlights the growing evidence of links between poverty and mental health problems.
